Bed and Breakfast in London

Are you planning a vacation in England? If so you may want to consider bed and breakfast in London as a cheaper alternative to staying in a London hotel. There are many advantages to B & B accommodation besides the obvious savings in cost, some hotels in England can seem a little old fashioned and stuffy to those who do not appreciate the traditional.

Staying in a guest house you will experience varying degrees of comfort from the luxurious down to the passable. To enable you to choose suitable accommodation you will need to understand the star rating system, of which there are several but all follow the same principles. If you are looking for top luxury treatment and surrounding together with that little extra "something" you will need to make a reservation at an establishment rated at 5 stars. If you are looking for excellent quality and good services then 4 stars will do fine (these are not quite 5 star). If you will be happy with something less than this you should choose a 2 or 3 star rated place to stay, these are perfectly fine but may not have the services available in those places rated higher. It is rare to find ratings of only 1 star but they are around and perfectly reasonable for basic bed and breakfast but little more.

There can be a variation in prices within each star rating some 5 star hotels will have cheaper rooms while others will not, some 4 star accommodation may be cheaper than 3 star with the main reason mainly being the number of rooms available (the more rooms they have the more chance they will offer cheap accommodation). It is, therefore, not always wise to attempt to judge the quality of a hotel or inn by the prices they charge, instead consider the number of stars and try to find reviews from previous guests. Remember, there is a massive selection of London bed and breakfasts to choose from so take your time and investigate thoroughly.

London is a vibrant city in which you can quickly find yourself enjoying some of the many tourist attractions, they are all around and easily accessible by bus, tube (underground railway system) or by taxi cab. However you may wish to enjoy this wonderful city on foot which will enable you to fully appreciate the rich culture and history on offer.

For the best views of the city head for the British Airways London Eye which is really a huge Ferris Wheel (one of the largest in the world) with covered carriages which hold up to 25 people, handy if it is raining! You will find it on the South Bank and can't really be missed. For around £15 (about $30) for an adult you will be allowed one circuit which lasts a full 30 minutes.

Other visitor attractions in London include Leicester Square in the West End, which is the main area for movie premieres, and Piccadilly Circus where you will find a wide selection of evening entertainment such as night clubs, restaurants and bars, together with a selection of cinemas. Oxford Street is a must for shopping (it's the world's longest shopping street) and the surrounding streets offer some of the finest goods available.

For something a little more relaxed visit one of the many parks and gardens such as Hyde Park or Kensington Gardens. The most popular attractions are Buckingham Palace, Hampton Court Palace, the London Aquarium, London Zoo, Madame Tussaud's Waxwork Museum, the Royal Opera House, St Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London plus a large number of others, too many to list here.

With so much to see and do you will appreciate any savings that can be made and bed and breakfast in London is an affordable option certainly worth a little consideration.
